Ordered: Zaatar Bagel with Zaatar Cream Cheese (~$6) with tomato (75¢) and cucumber (75¢) - toasted & scooped out Aya's take: Being Middle Eastern, I was shocked that I had never heard of this place considering this is the Home of the Zaa'tar Bagel! They were pretty busy considering it was 11am on a Sunday but we were in & out in 15 minutes. The Zaatar Bagel was quite dry and you get that aromatic, earthy, and slightly woody flavor from the zaatar on top. For some reason, the Zaatar Cream Cheese had an essence of truffle. I didn't mind it since I'm a fan of this flavor profile but it just wasn't what I was expecting. The zaatar was definitely not very strong to taste; I would've liked more herbaceous, tartness (from sumac), and richness. The tomato & cucumber were a must as it added a fresh bite and crunchy texture to every bite. It was a good try but I would probably try something else next time. Stop by and support this local Palestinian-owned business! FYI, bring cash if you want to save the 3% surcharge on credit cards.

These bad reviews are actually absurd, although I do hope they keep the lines away. I almost never write reviews but when I saw this I had to. I've lived in 3 Manhattan neighborhoods and 2 Brooklyn neighborhoods over the past 11 years and these are the best bagels I've ever had (compared to Ess-a-bagel, Blackseed, Bagel Pub and many others). I take all my friends there. It can get busy, but the staff is always pleasant the prices are reasonable and the bagels are delicious and fresh. Great schmear options and sandwiches as well.

This has quickly become my go-to bagel spot in the neighborhood! The za'atar bagel with scallion lox cream cheese is super addicting. Quick service and lots of different bagel and spread options!

One of the best bagel shops in the area. Large menu. Be ready with what type of bagel you feel like. The service is quick and easy. And the cashier was friendly. Mr. F (Pastrami, fried egg, lettuce, red onion, and cream cheese on an everything bagel.)

Got the vegan sausage egg and cheese and husband got the turkey panini with peppers. Both were awesome!! The staff was really nice, they get busy on weekends especially so the wait was kind of long. They have nice outdoor seating as well.

I've only ordered for delivery but these are the best bagels I've had in this area- still not my favorite but these are decent. I appreciate that they offer a few different flavors of cream cheese- including some very unique options like black truffle cc and bacon maple cc among various others. They also offer nice bagel sandwich options. Delivery has been fine, sometimes it can be slow on a busy morning. I'll continue to order delivery. 4/5

Zaatar Bagel w/Olive Cream Cheese is amazing. The flavor of the bagel paired nicely with the cream cheese. This was recommended by the gentleman who took our order and he didn't steer us wrong. I'd totally go back to see what other unique flavors they have and when in doubt, ask for a recommendation and be adventurous. You can tell this has been around awhile, the shop is quaint and you can see the age and history here.

I came around noon but apparently that was too late as they were all sold out of the za'atar bagels. Fortunately, there was za'atar cream cheese, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Initially I was leaning towards the black truffle cream cheese, but I asked the staff member taking my order which they would recommend and they immediately responded with za'atar. My sesame bagel with za'atar cream cheese came out $6 and it was worth ever penny. The sesame seeds had a nice toasted flavor and the bagel had an excellent deep brown color. The texture was not too denser and the inside was nice and springy. But that cream cheese, wow! It's nutty, it's rich, and the tang you usually get from the sumac is tempered by the cream cheese. In fact, it makes the cream cheese taste even cheesier and savorier, thanks to the marjoram and oregano. I will definitely be back to try their za'atar bagel and black truffle cream cheese too. But the za'atar cream cheese is definitely worth a trip over to Olde Brookyn Bagel Shoppe.
